In response to Hito Steryl’s essay, “A Thing Like You And Me” this 8-page publication discusses how consumer culture has demolished the value of the subject and has replaced its meaning with what it means to be a commodity. Steryl explores how we have subjected the image/subject to violence through the communication of content and destruction of form. I designed my publication using images that could be cropped, repeated, fragmented, or pixelated to enforce that the hero is dead. Content is dead. Anything and everything can be altered and destroyed.
